PROPOSED BYLAWS REVISIONS 2025

Our PTSO bylaws are due for an update and will be presented for a vote at the September 17th General Membership Meeting. Below is a brief overview of the proposed revisions. These updates are designed to reflect current practices, improve clarity, and expand opportunities for student leadership and operational efficiency. 

• Updated language to affirm the Student Liaison as a full Executive Board member
• Revised membership drive language to reflect early outreach and rollover eligibility
• Clarified that student members remain active throughout their time at Crofton High with no need to re-register annually
• Removed outdated references to the inaugural year
• Clarified that half-terms do not count toward term limits
• Updated the purpose of Class Committees, including the removal of the signature fundraiser requirement
• Added provisions for:
  • Use of debit cards for recurring purchases
  • Use of third-party platforms for collecting payments (not for fund disbursement)
  • Electronic reimbursement submissions with image of original receipt
• Added formal language outlining the budget development and approval process
